Government Degree College Qazigund Organized A Symposium On The Theme Of “Truth And Non-Violence" Under The Aegis Of Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations

The Department of Political Science and the Department of Sociology, Government Degree College Qazigund, jointly on 18th of September organized a symposium on the theme of “Truth and Non-Violence" under the aegis of Gandhi Jayanti celebrations. The event was hosted by Dr. Meenaza Manzoor and featured a diverse array of speakers and
participants who explored the significance of these principles in contemporary society.
The symposium witnessed active participation and insightful discussions by both students and teachers. Several students from the 5th semester shared their perspectives on the topic of “Truth and Non-Violence.”
Professor M.M. Pala, the keynote speaker, delivered an enlightening talk. He emphasized that "Truth and Non-Violence" are potent tools for maintaining peace and stability in social fabric.Dr. Waseem Ahmad Sofi, another keynote speaker highlighted the significance of Gandhian Philosophy in the contemporary era.Prof. Showkat Ahmad Malik discussed the necessity and true essence of concepts like truth and non-violence.Dr. Adil Bashir Parry concluded the program with a vote of thanks, underlining the enduring relevance of Gandhian thought in the present context of our country.
Following the symposium, a documentary on the Sabarmati Ashram was screened, highlighting the historical significance
of this institution in promoting Gandhi's principles.
